You would like to avoid using you primary email address, or the email address that you receive from your ISP for things like that. That makes it a bit more difficult for spammers to find your email address because they use special software that searches for the symbol, and not just the words. Spammers use spider software to crawl the web and harvest email address, so if you have a personal or company website that has your email posted on it, sooner or later a spam spider is going to grab your address and add it to the mill. While some spam comes as a result of online purchases (yes, there are companies that will sell your email address no matter what their privacy policy says), that's just one of the ways spammers get you in their sites. It's taking up half of all email on the Earth, and it's costing businesses' billions in wasted time, as well as filling personal email accounts to the limit so important messages aren't received. They have multiple ways of finding out email addresses and then sending thousands upon thousands of unwanted messages to you and I. Supposedly most of the billions of junk emails originate from about 200 people who are intelligent enough to cover their tracks. It is estimated that around half of all email received on the Internet is this sneaky illegal attempt at selling fake consumer goods, pornography, and a whole plethora of 'helpful' services. So, show the criminals you're aware and not ignorant and take the first steps to bringing the Spam Empire down.
When the spam harvesting software goes through my site, it won't find a single working email address in my site proper, but it will stumble on a goldmine of addresses and load them into it's database. It will be stuffed full of email addresses, none of which work. If you are in a position to load your site with a few thousand dud email addresses, why not give it a go and Stuff the Spammers. A recent survey revealed that 86 per cent of workers used their company email to send and receive personal emails. Personal emails cause network congestion since they are not only unnecessary, but tend to be mailed to a large list of recipients and often include large attachments such as mp3, executable or video files that users do not zip. For years, companies have addressed their email security needs through a mixture of third party software solutions designed to address specific areas of vulnerability. In addition to personal emails, unwanted spam messages are a significant time waster. Spam and personal abuse of email can also cause a corporation's email system to waste valuable bandwidth resources.

plain privacy link, and an even more plain unsubscrib.
Now - don't feel I am supporting spam but for goodness sake, I don't want someone else monitoring my email and determining what I should read or not. They have installed content filters that dump any email that happens to match the keywords they have installed. How many legitimate emails do we have to not get because others are making that decision for us. Will there be words in that column that match the filters these self appointed guardians of email have installed - Sure. The problem is that there is no personal judgment at the level of the ISP to determine if a note is spam or not.
Integrated spam filters are most popular amongst people who want a one click solution to collecting their personal email and filtering junk email at the same time. Using a standalone spam filter is a little more work simply because it's a separate piece of software that you have to run before you open up your email software. Most standalone filters do allow you to configure them so that your standard email application is opened once you've chosen what spam to filter. This one single feature has the huge benefit of allowing you to just download the email that you want as opposed to downloading all of your email, including the spam, and then sorting through it. Doesn't rely on specific email applications to work properly.
The best way to filter spam, is not to filter on the senders email address. Some people go so far as to set up a separate email account just for their personal use, and another for their ezines, which is not a bad idea. To compound matters, they forgot they are doing this, and get aggravated when they can't unsubscribe under their main email address. While most publishers don't want people on their list who don't wish to receive it, they have no idea what email address you used when subscribing. Filter out those emails that match your key words.
I received an email some days later from a sales rep that had in the subject line just this one word. Help yourself and your readers by being very descriptive in your email subject lines. Nor do we want to run the risk of opening an email that will infect our computers. When the writer of the email or document fails to anticipate our question and postpones the answer, most of us become impatient. All readers, you and me included, approach each email we read with the same question in mind.
